Hey! I'm Erik Poppen, a photographer and filmmaker born and raised in Northern Colorado and based in San Francisco, California. I work with both digital and analog mediums and get most inspired by being outdoors. As an ambitiously adventurous person, I thrive in environments where I feel most alive and create imagery illustrating that feeling. My work is an effort to provoke dialogue about our relationship with the natural world, and its place in each of us. I aim to shine a light on our wild spirit through colorfully energetic imagery that sidesteps any bystandership to life. I view my work as collaborative with my surroundings and foster a deep appreciation for the authenticity of the places I photograph. I live and breathe to create work with the persons and world around me and for a finer look at these fleeting moments - ever exploring the environments that most stoke my fire, people, and the outdoors.
